| JKNUF denounces poll boycott call | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 4: Taking strong notice of the election boycott call given by self-styled leader of the KP community the Jammu and Kashmir National United Front spokesman has said that such elements, as usual, have been doing so on the advent of every election during the last two decades of turmoil. ‘All these so-called leaders have a pre-determined mindset and they feel that every word they utter is final on the earth’, the spokesman said and added such boycott calls in the past have adversely affected the community. He further said that ‘such boycott calls amount to aligning of the community to the anti national forces which tend to weaken the fundamentals of the polity of the country and also cause to threat to the national unity and integrity’. In the present changing political scenario even a single vote counts, the spokesman said adding that things were different in 1990 when the KP’s had no other way to go but to fall in line with the majority community. He said that it was really agonizing on the party of the leadership of certain organizations having started issuing sermons and dictates to the community not to participate in the elections. He asked these organizations that how long the Kashmiri Hindu community should be a slave to the idea of homeland Kashyp state and maintained that JKNUF also pleads for setting up of satellite town- ship in the valley with secular credentials. The spokesman said that in the given circumstances, the JKNUF demands that those organizations who have given the poll boycott call should withdraw it as it was totally undemocratic and unlawful. |
