JAMMU, Nov 5: University of Jammu men today lost in the quarterfinals fighting Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) as semi-finals line up has been drawn in the ongoing North Zone Inter-University Table Tennis Championship organized by University of Jammu at Indoor Hall on the campus, here.
Teams reaching the last four stages are Punjab Technical University (PTU), Jallandhar, GNDU, Delhi University and Punjab University Chandigarh.
Now, in the semi-finals, defending champions, Delhi University shall take on Punjab University Chandigarh while GNDU shall meet Punjab Technical University (PTU) tomorrow at 10 am.
Earlier, in the quarterfinals, played in the afternoon session, PTU defeated the last year’s runners-up Kurukshetra University (3-2) in a tough contest that lasted for full five sets. Delhi University won their match against Maharishi Dayanand University Rohtak 3-0 while Punjab University trounced Allahabad University (3-2) again in a neck to neck fight.
Expected to give a tough fight to GNDU, University of Jammu paddlers were unable to play their natural game and lost the important match in straight games.
