| Gupta focuses on strengthening nationalist forces | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 5: To get rid of the mess prevailing in this state, it is essential that the forces of nationalism must be strengthened by inflicting a crushing defeat to the Congress and its separatist allies in the elections. This was stated by the former Union Minister and a senior BJP leader, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta while addressing a meeting of the party activists of Gol Gujral Ward No. 32 of West Mandal of Jammu city. He took stock of the problems facing the people residing in these localities. At the meeting the activists explained that the condition of the link roads was awful, the electricity and water supply was quite poor and the drains and the sanitation conditions especially during the rainy season cause great hardships. Prof. Gupta observed that all this exposes the claims of Vikas made during the past years of the Congress regime especially when the Congress leaders are claiming the votes of electorates on the issue of secularism and development works done during the past years. He alleged that the menace of terrorism and secessionism has assumed serious proportions but for the Congress never had any clear policy on Kashmir because the Congress leadership was always swayed under communal pressures of secessionists and other elements. |
