| Self rule offers K solution: Zargar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Nov 5: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senior leader Abdul Aziz Zargar today said that his party's self rule is the only viable solution to the vexed Kashmir issue as the other roadmaps including National Conference's Autonomy have nothing new to offer Kashmiris. Addressing a workers convention at Ringat-Noorabad-Kulgam, Zargar said that his party's roadmap talks of a new concept of shared sovereignty, besides other constitutional guarantees. He advised the voters to judge the political parties on the basis of their performance before casting their votes. "It was PDP which made a hostile atmosphere conducive between the governments of India and Pakistan to discuss peace and reconciliation. It was our party which acted as a bridge between these estranged neighbors. The PDP besides fulfilling its promises made headway in motivating the two countries for extending major confidence building measures including opening of routes across the border and restoration of trade between the two divided parts of Kashmir," Zargar observed. |
