| 11 papers rejected in Rajouri | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
RAJOURI, Nov 6: The nominations of only 65 candidates have been found valid in the four assembly segments of Rajouri district while 9 were rejected during scrutiny, today.
In Rajouri Assembly segments, the papers of 5 candidates including three covering candidates of BJP, Congress and BSP were rejected reducing the number of candidates to 24.
In Darhal, the papers of two candidates including a PDP covering candidate were rejected, leaving the number of contestants to 13.
In Nowshera, the nomination papers of two covering candidates of Congress and BJP were found invalid, leaving the number of candidates to 12. However, all the 16 nomination papers in Kalakote were found valid during the scrutiny.
The election in all the four assembly segments is scheduled to be held in 2nd phase on November 23, 2008 and the date for withdrawal of candidature is November 8, 2008. |
