| No SHOs for 5 City Police Stations | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 6:In the middle of twin challenges –elections and militant threat –at least five key Police Stations in Jammu City are headless. Their Station House Officers were either transferred, moved out of ranged or attached but authorities are yet to look back at replacements.
Inspector Surinder Singh Kudiyar was the fifth Station House Officer to leave the Police Station headless as he was attached to the District Police Line today.
Station House Officer Nowabad Police Station Surinder Singh Kudiyar who had just joined police station Nowabad after transfer from Samba police station has been attached to District Police Lines and with this five police stations in the city have fallen headless. Police Station City, Police Station Pacca Danga, Police Station Janipur, Police Station Bakshi Nagar and Police Station Nowabad have no SHOs.
Kudiyar was suspended on the allegation of dereliction of duties as he had not apprised the seniors about the sensitive cases registered in police station. There was dispute on District Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee among the two parties and the court gave verdict in favor of one Jaga party. After having court orders they broke the locks of the office and the other party registered a complaint in Nowabad police station. When first party came to know about this they went to SSP Jammu Manohar Singh with complaint. The SSP was probably not aware as he was allegedly not approved by the SHO about the case. Immediately the SSP issued orders of attachments of Kudiyar to District Police Lines. |
