| Students burn CM’s effigy | | |
Jammu, Sep 13 : Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad today held a protest demonstration and burnt the effigy of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad in protest against the police lathichage of the students at Chennani on Tuesday.
A large number of ABVP activist gathered at Jammu University campus and staged a protest demonstration. The protestors alleged that police canchaged and injured at least eight students who were protesting against the occupation of Middle School Chenani by Patnitop Development Authority.
Shouting slogans against the government, the protestors burnt the effigy of the chief minister outside the University gate.
Demanding that the school building shall be handed over to the school management, the ABVP leaders threatened to intensify their agitation in case their demands were not met. ( |
