JKTJAC holds meeting, demands old pension scheme for NPS employees

JAMMU, Oct 26: Jammu Kashmir Teachers Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) organized a meeting at Udhampur under the leadership of UT President Vinod Sharma. The meeting was attended by a large number of NPS employees of education, PDD, Forest, Youth Service and Sports.
Speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma raised the burning issues of NPS employees and demanded the old pension scheme for all such employees.
He said that pension is the only source of income and a ray of hope for the employees after their retirement, but NPS scheme has snatched the said source thereby pushing them in distress.
He appealed the LG to intervene in the matter and grant the old pension scheme for the NPS Employees so that they may not suffer in their old age.
Speaking on the occasion speakers of various departments raised the NPS issue and said that shortcomings in the scheme are forcing the employees to come on joint platform to demand old pension. They appealed the NPS employees of all departments to get united for the cause and hoped that JKTJAC leadership will lead them to ultimate goal of old pension.
On the occasion JKTJAC announced one representative of NPS from Education Department from all the zones of Udhampur including Bharat Bhushan Singh from Chenani, Ravikant from Babey, Rajesh Jamwal from Ghordi, Yudhvir Singh from Kulwanta, Parshant Sharma from Jib, Mohd Mustfa from Tikri, Ajit Singh from Udhampur, Pama Chand from Pancheri, Lakshdeep from Majalta, Uttam Chand from Dudu and Vishwa Nath from Ramnagar.
Those who also spoke on the occasion included Lekh Raj Parihar Distt president Udhampur, Sham Sharma UT Chief Advisor, Sukesh Khajuria UT Chief Press and Media Secretary, Ravinder Singh Rathore General Secretary, and others.
