| GDC Darhal organizes NSS Orientation Programme | | |  Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Oct 27: An orientation programme was organized in Government Degree College (GDC) Darhal to motivate the students to join NSS. Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the college Prof Sumanesh Jasrotia gave a detail of the activities of NSS and the significance of NSS in the colleges.
He threw light on the significance of NSS day which marks the beginning of National Service Scheme in India. He said that the number of Volunteers has increased multiple times since the start of this scheme because of the attraction of youth towards this particular National Service Scheme. He said that NSS volunteers are always role model for other students in the college because they are more disciplined and sincere in comparison to other students. Senior Faculty Member Dr Ahsan Ul Rehman Rizvi motivated the students to opt for NSS.
Dr Ather Aziz Raina in his motivational speech gave a detail of the activities performed by the NSS Unit in the last one year. He said that the volunteers were quite active even during COVID pandemic times in performing various assignments such as awareness regarding COVID-19. He said that they also acted as Young Warriors during these tough times and were quite active for providing vital information to the general masses regarding precautionary measures to be taken to avoid the Corona Virus Disease. He said that celebration of all National Days and events is the hall mark of NSS Unit of GDC Darhal.
Dr Imtiaz Hussain Shah, Dr Riaz, Dr Mukhtiar, Mahwish Fatima Malik, Farzana Kousar, Avez, Safeer and Saddam were also present on this occasion. |
