Awareness campaign on HIV/AIDS concludes at GDC Billawar-

BILLAWAR, Oct 28: GDC Billawar organizes valedictory function of weeklong series of awareness campaign organized by Red Ribbon Club in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Aids Control Society under "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" for implementing New India @ 75 in the Seminar Hall of the college.
Prof Anita Jamwal, Principal of the college was the chief guest of this Valedictory function. During her concluding remarks, she appreciated the efforts of Red Ribbon Club for organizing such a successful series of events on different issues to aware the youth about HIV/AIDS, TB, Blood Donation. She also stressed upon the need of these havoc and killer diseases and she also advised the volunteers to spread this message among youth in different areas. She also thanks JKACS for their effortless support and guidance.
Dr Shamim Bandey, convener Red Ribbon Club in his address said that thousands of people are infected worldwide because of unawareness about HIV/AIDS. Since there is no cure for HIV, the best we can do to prevent this disease from spreading and taking more lives is to educate the masses and create awareness.
More than 100 students participated in this event. A very simple but impressive function was concluded by presenting certificates, medals and mementos to the participants and guests. Others who were present were Prof Lekh Raj coordinator IQAC, Prof Parshotam HOD Computer Application, Prof Rakesh HOD Physics, Prof Maqueem Staff Secretary, Prof Raman, Prof Rajni Kumari NCC Programme Officer and many other staff members. The programme was conducted by Dr Pinkey, Co-convener Red Ribbon Club. The vote of thanks was presented by Prof Mohd Maquem Ahmed.
