| GDC Sidhra conducts series of activities under "Iconic week Festival" | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 28: To celebrate "Iconic week Festival" Cultural Committee of Government Degree College (GDC) Sidhra under the patronship of Prof (Dr) Monika Sharma organized a series of activities.
The programme was initiated with a welcome note by Dr Mahak Mengi. On October 26 an activity related with 'Showcasing Traditional Dresses of Jammu and Kashmir' was conducted in which many students sent their pictures in different dresses while displaying their culture and traditions. An event of Dogri lecture series was organized today in which two lectures were conducted. One lecture was on 'Social Vision in Dogri folklore' delivered by Dr Sudhir Singh in which he discussed extensively about the 'Khwan, Dogri Geet, Kharka, Geetdu, Suhag etc with the participants. He further highlighted that how important these Geets are in promoting our Duggar Cultural heritage and language. His words were very much motivating for participants in inculcating Dogri language in their day today life. Another lecture was delivered by was Prof (Dr) Surita Sharma, Asst Prof (Dogri) GDC Akhnoor on theme 'Dogri Lippi Da Aarambh Te Vikas'. The resource person discussed in detail about the origin and proper pronunciation of Dogri Lippi and further emphasized the role of true pronunciation of Dogri Lippi. The event was concluded with formal vote of thanks by Dr Mussarat Chowdhary, Convener of Cultural Committee. |
