PDP today urged upon the election commission that the number of migrant electoral forms issued should be made public through print and electronic media for the information of all political parties and candidates contesting the ensuing elections.
In a statement issued here today a PDP spokesperson said that in order to undo the apprehensions being expressed by several stakeholders, the Election Commission or for that matter Chief Electoral Officer of Jammu and Kashmir should issue bulletin to this effect on daily basis to keep the political parties and contesting candidates informed about the number of forms issued to the migrant voters which was must for a transparent election process.
The spokesman said that election commission should take all necessary measures to uphold the sanctity of election process to avoid any sort of malpractice in the process.
The spokesman also said that the election commission should also look into and monitor the complaints on daily basis for quick disposal.
Meanwhile PDP nominee for Gurez Assembly Segment Nazir Ahmad Bhat has demanded opening of Neelam Valley road for public convenience in the interest of the people of this far flung and backward area. Addressing many election rallies in Gurez constituency Nazir Bhat said that the time has come when the government should take concrete measures for opening of Neelam Valley road in the public good to address the alienation of people of Gurez.
