| Prof Gupta takes lead over rivals; kick starts his poll campaign | | |
Early Times Report Jammu | Nov 7
Senior BP leader Prof Chaman Lal Gupta contesting from Jammu West constituency has taken a lead over his rivals by kick starting election campaign much ahead of the poll calendar. Jammu will go to polls in the last phase on December 24.
On Friday the BJP leader conducted a whirl wind tour of the Assembly constituency and also addressed series of public meetings exposing the inhuman face of the congress party.
He used the occasion to castigate the oldest political party and said that the role of the congress and its pseudo secular allies has not only been detrimental to the national interests but they are inhumane in many respects.
He urged electorate to punish such forces by extending their support to BJP.
While addressing public meeting in Rehari Prof Chamnal Lal Gupta raised the issue of refugees and said migrants from Pak-held areas who were forced by the Pak-invaders to leave their homes and hearth and are living in poor conditions. Even the claims of their properties have not been registered.
In the State Assembly 24 seats have been reserved for Pak-held areas but the Congress, National Conference and their likes were not prepared to spare some seats for the migrants from PoK, he added and further said that more than this the refugees from adjoining Sialkot and other areas from the newly created theoretic state of Pakistan, who were forced by the painful circumstances to migrate Jammu areas, have not been granted the citizenship rights even after expiry of sixty years but for so-called Special Status of Jammu and Kashmir granted by the Congress leadership under Article 370. Prof. Gupta observed that this Article has not only generated separatism and fundamentalism but also is proving inhumane.
Dubbing the Congress and its allies of having communal mindset, the BJP leader maintained that until these pseudo secularists are defeated and the forces of nationalism are empowered the situation in this troubled state cannot be improved and wrongs rectified.
