District level Women Sports Festival held

After successfully holding the block level women sports festival, J&K State Sports Council has organized district level Women Sports Festival at Sports Stadium, here today.
About 97 students drawn from the different institutions of the district participated in three disciplines which included Kabaddi, kho-kho and Athletic events during day long competition.
BN Bhat, District Youth Services and Sports officer, Udhampur was the chief guest on the occasion and presented winners and runners –up trophies to teams, besides medals to the outstanding players of the competition.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhat complimented players of the teams and advised them to take part in the games and sports in order to keep themselves Sports always keeps our body and mind fit, he added.
Earlier, the competition was declared open by the Bhushan Sethi, Zonal Physical Education officer in a simple but impressive function. He was also introduced with the players of the participating teams.
The competition was held under supervision of Salamat Choudhary. He was assisted by Sat Paul Sharma, SAI badminton coach, Arshi Nad, Sports Council’s Judo coach, Anil Sharma , Kho-kho coach and Paramjeet Kour, SAI Athletic coach. Parminder Manhas, Vinod Sharma, Ravi Singh, Ajay Singh (PEMs) were the officials of the competition.
Reasi XI won the kho-kho trophy by defeating Govt Girls High School Udhampur. In kabaddi finals, Ramnagar Club trounced Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Udhampur.
Neha Kumar from Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Udhampur stood first in the 100 Mtrs race. Both Pratima of Aryan Oriental Conventy Higher Secondary School and Pooja from Govt Girls High School Udhampur have shared the second and third positions respectively.
In 200 Mtrs race, Sukesho Devi from Higher Secondary School Udhampur, Shahnaz of Govt High School Udhampur and Radhar Devi of Govt Higher Secondary, Udhampur shared the claimed top three positions respectively.
