Kavinder for establishment of Duggar channel in Jammu

JAMMU, Nov 6: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta laid stress for establishment of a Duggar channel in Jammu to project and promote the rich culture and heritage of Jammu region.
Speaking at the programme held here today, the senior BJP leader said that with the efforts of former Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, regional language Dogri was introduced to the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution and now it becomes our duty as well to promote our language so that the younger generation must also learn about the language. He also said that when you go to other States of the country you will see everyone speaking in their regional languages which is a proud thing and we must also focus on spreading awareness amongst everyone especially youth to learn about their regional language.
The former Deputy Chief Minister appealed to the Central Government to take adequate steps for starting Duggar Channel with a sole aim to promote, protect and develop the rich culture, heritage and languages spoken in the Duggar land.
Earlier, Kavinder Gupta, who was the Chief Guest, along with Mohan Singh, famous Dogri Poet and Sahitya Academy Awardee released audio-video Dogri Song penned by Dogri Poetess Neelam Verma at Vishwakarma Sabha Bakshi Nagar, Jammu. The song was sung in the melodious voice of Vanshika Jaral and composed by famous Music Director Surinder Manhas. Suhani and Vishav Mahotra have acted to picturize the beautiful lyric.
Sunita Bhadwal known Dogri Writer, Arvinder Singh Amn Addtional Secretary Culture Academy, Inderjit Kesar well known Dogri Writer and former KAS officer and Sohail Kazmi CEO Taskeen Group of Newspapers were the Guests of Honour. Surinder Kaur Senior Advocate Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh High Court was Special Invitee and Vishal Chowdhary was the Special Guest.
Yash Pal Yash, General Secretary NDS conducted the programme where as Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila President NDS Co-shared the dias .
Capt Lait Sharma, IFS, APCCF (Retd.), Convener NDS, in his opening remarks, described the Production as an example of good team work and perfect coordination.
Mohan Singh, in his presidential address, emphasized upon a separate Duggar TV Channel for propagating local languages and culture and providing the writers and artists an electronic platform to project and boost their talent and creativity.
Sohail Kazmi, Inderjeet Kesar, Sunita Podwal, Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila, Arjun Dev Mohan, General Secretary NDS Youth Wing and Vishal Chowdhary also spoke on the occasion.
Kavinder Gupta said that Jammu and Kashmir has no dearth of talent provided our children get proper environment, appropriate platform and proper grooming. He assured the participants that he will invoke all possible efforts for starting of Dogri Channel for the overall promotion of our rich and heritage culture. Besides, he also lauded the production team and congratulated the NDS for its contribution in the field of Dogri Language and Duggar Culture.
