PNBMT remembers Dr KL Chowdhry

JAMMU, Nov 7: Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust (PNBMT) organized a public function today to pay its tributes to Dr KL Chowdhry, who passed away in US recently. The function was organized to remember the life and times of Dr Chowdhry for his enormous contributions to the Kashmiri Pandit society.
The function was chaired by noted litterateur and scholar Prof PN Trisal while Retd Justice Sunil Hali was the chief guest on the occasion.
A galaxy of community leaders and noted individuals attended the function.
Floral tributes were offered to the portrait of the late leader and two minutes silence was also observed in the memory of the community stalwart.
Two minutes silence was also observed in the memory of DN Kissu, chairman ADKPUF, who left for his heavenly abode a few days back.
The function was addressed by a galaxy of community leaders including Surinder Ambardar, Ajay Bharti, Ashwani Chrungoo, KK Khosa President KP Sabha, Virender Raina President PK, MK Yogi, AK Raina, Dr RL Bhat, Dr BK Handoo and Balkrishan Sanyasi.
Chief Guest Justice Retd Sunil Hali paid glowing tributes to Dr Chowdhry for his immense contributions in so many fields. He said that the efforts of Dr Chowdhry helped create a global consciousness regarding the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits.
Prof PN Trisal said that Dr Chowdhry was a man of letters and wrote extensively on the contemporary social and political issues and had a deep understanding of the societal situation.
Ashwani Chrungoo talked about his close association with Dr Chowdhry and his contributions in the framing of the important Maargdarshan Resolution and also his espousal of the community cause in various national and international forums.
Virender Raina, President PK literally called him the Da Vinci of the KP community, who impacted every sphere from medicine to literature, poetry, columnist, orator, activist, thought leader.
BJP leader Surinder Ambardar said that Dr Chowdhry had deep empathy for the community and was always ready to offer his services. He said that his services would be written in golden letters.
BJP leader Ajay Bharti, Dr RL Bhat and Chairman, PNBMT Shiban Khaibri recalled the contributions made by Dr Chowdhary.
