| Introduce Punjabi language at school level: JKPF | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 8: Punjabi language be introduced at school level as an optional subject through out the state, said president of Jammu & Kashmir Punjabi Forum S. Harbhajan Singh at a press conference held here today. While expressing his views about the language he said, state government takes no interest in its development and on other hand students who have opted Punjabi as one of the subject, there are no teachers to teach them. He said posts of lecturers are lying vacant in number of educational institutions. He demanded that a separate full fledged department of Punjabi language be opened in University of Kashmir, so that students are not compelled to move out from Kashmir to other Universities for doing post-graduation in the language. Among others present during the press meet were Paramjeet Singh, Jasvinder Singh, Darvinder Singh, Kamal Deep Singh and Rajinder Singh etc.
