DC Poonch reviews arrangements for Gurupurab

POONCH, Nov 10: District Development Commissioner Poonch Inder Jeet on Wednesday convened a meeting to review the arrangements for Gurupurab (Prakash Diwas of Guru Nanak Dev Ji) being held on November 19.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Zaheer Ahmed Kaifi; Tehsildar Haveli, Anjum Bashir Khan Khattak; ALC/DIO, Abid Hussain Shah; CMO Poonch, Dr G.A Malik; Executive Engineer of different departments, DySP headquarter, Executive Officer Municipality, AD Food, members of civil society, prominent citizens and religious heads including President DGPC, Poonch, Narinder Singh, President, SDS, Satish Sasan, Imam Mufti, Farooq Ahmed Misbai and others.
In the meeting, religious heads and prominent citizens raised various issues related to the arrangement for Gurpurap. They requested the administration to ensure drinking water, power supply, sanitation, security arrangement, Medical facilities etc during the celebration.
The DC urged the religious organizations to cooperate with District Administration and follow all necessary SOPs and guidelines for COVID-19 control.
The DDC directed for ensuring uninterrupted Water and power supply to all Gurudwaras at Poonch.
He also instructed for providing extra lights and repair of street lights in the surrounding areas of Gurudwaras.
The meeting was informed that comprehensive security and traffic plans have been formulated for hassle-free movement and smooth celebrations of Gurupurab.
The DDC also directed the Chief Medical Officer for providing Mask, sanitizers and Medicare facility at the Religious places, while civic authorities were asked to ensure sanitation and immediate repair of defunct street lights in and around the Gurdwaras.
