Jammu University organizes Start-Up Series

JAMMU, Nov 10: University of Jammu Special Purpose Vehicle Foundation (UOJSPVF), University of Jammu Start -Up facilitation centre started the start-up series. Professor Parikshat Singh Manhas, Director& CEO, University of Jammu SPVF welcomed the participants and gave a brief about the aim of the start-up series.
Prof. Manhas said that this series aimed at providing pathways to the participants to start their own business/company. He elaborated the basic aim of such programs and discussed the vision of the UOJSPVF. Prof. Manhas gave examples of successful entrepreneurs who had started with very small and now are successfully running their businesses not only at national but at global level. Prof. Manhas said that we are working on the tagline "Be a job creator, not a job seeker" and the same can be achieved by promoting start-ups.
Chartered Accountant (CA) Sahil Malhotra and CA Akhileshwar Salathia were the resource persons on the occasion. The resource persons introduced the concept of start-ups and elaborated how it can provide employment opportunities to the masses. He shared various concepts of businesses with regards to funding and all the legal formalities.
During the session the resource persons explained how to set a career vision, how to discover what matters in career and defined factors of a successful entrepreneur. They familiarized the students with various concepts related to defining goals and needs, development of a personal career plan and discovering what's next in the career and challenges in global era.
During the session they motivated the students via various success stories of entrepreneurs, including success stories of Paytm, Flipkart, Swiggy, Big basket, Car's 24 etc. There was a two way interaction between the resource persons and the participants in the end. Participants had various queries and the same were answered by the resource persons. During the interaction session participants come up with their innovative ideas and share the same with the rest of the participants.
