Mayor distributes dustbins in Talab Tillo area

JAMMU, Nov 10: With a view to maintain better sanitation and hygiene in various markets as well as surrounding localities of Jammu City, Mayor Jammu distributed dustbins among the shopkeepers in Talab Tillo area here today.
Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta along with Yash Pal Sharma Chairman of Swachh Bharat Standing Committee JMC and Sucha Singh Councillor of Ward No 31 distributed about 120 dustbins in the markets situated at Vikas Lane, Nitco Lane and adjoining areas in Ward No 31.
Keshav Chopra Mandal President, Ayodhya Gupta Senior leader BJP, Ghani Shyam Ward President, representatives of Vikas Lane (Talab Tillo) Market Association, Hardeep Singh Sanitation Officer, Hira Lal Khajuria Sanitary Inspector JMC and other supervisory staff of Health as well as Solid Waste Management JMC also accompanied the Mayor during the programme. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said that JMC under the guidance of all the Councillors has taken lot of initiatives under "Swachh Bharat Mission" to make all the wards of the city neat, clean and green. He appealed to the all the shopkeepers, hoteliers and other businessmen not to throw garbage and other waste articles on the roadside, public drains, lanes and corners.
He urged them to put the same in the dustbins provided and then handover the collected garbage to the designated vehicles of JMC which have been kept exclusively for this purpose in each ward of the city, also adopt the habit of segregation of dry/wet waste at their own level separately, pay prescribed user charges to the field staff of JMC against proper Govt. receipt and cooperate with the department so that the aim of "Swachh Bharat Mission" can be achieved successfully.
