Darhal, Nov 8- Renewed efforts of India and Pakistan for sustained dialogue through peace and reconciliation has generated hope in people of Jammu and Kashmir, the major stake holders of the political unrest in the sub continent. This was stated by PDP president Mehbooba Mufti Mufti while addressing several election rallies in favour of party candidate for Darhal Constituency Choudhary Zulfikar Ali at Nadian, Darhal and Parote. Mufti said that under the visionary leadership of Mufti Muhammad Sayed, PDP successfully put Kashmir problem in rationale context and the people in Jammu and Kashmir are now expecting early breakthrough in the resolution of socio-economic and political problems they are confronting. Mehbooba Mufti said that her party's roadmap talks of a new concept of shared sovereignty, besides other constitutional guarantees. She said that people in Jammu and Kashmiris can never forget the National Conference leadership who worked on the same wages despite their proposal Autonomy thrown to dust bin by the central government. While casting their votes, Mufti said that the people should judge the political parties on the basis of their performance. "It was PDP which made a hostile atmosphere conducive between the governments of India and Pakistan to discuss peace and reconciliation. It was our party which acted as a bridge between these estranged neighbors. She said the recent opening of cross-LoC routes for trade has given fresh momentum to the peace and confidence building, tragically, though at a heavy human cost. "We must now have a political set up in place in the State that would not only prevent the process from dithering again, but also supplement it with more imaginative initiatives. Mehbooba said although PDP had made it clear, time and again, that the prevailing situation in the State is not conducive for polls, but as the National Conference has now forced elections on the people, PDP took it as a challenge and put the issue in the people's court. "Let the masses decide now," he said and added that after having suffered the miseries of the most turbulent times of the State's history, people of Jammu & Kashmir are now emancipated enough to see through the designs of their enemies. Yashpal Sharma, Master Tasaduq Hussain and Muzaffer Baji also accompanied her.
