| Bhim claims his Panther win certain in Poonch | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 8- The 3-day election tour of the Panthers Party led by its chairman Prof. Bhim Singh, has splashed Congress-NC hopes in Poonch District where election shall take place on November 17 in the 1st Phase, claimed a party handout. The Panthers Party is contesting all the three seats and it is for the first time in the history of Poonch District that a post-graduate stormy lady, Tabassum Choudhary is contesting from Poonch-Haveli, bordering Rawlakote, which was recently opened for trade between Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. Accompanied by S. Daljit Singh, General Secretary-JKNPP, Youth Wing General Secretary Salim Sheikh, District President, Janaki Devi, Panthers Party candidate, Tabassum Choudhary and Election campaign Convenor, Kuldip Sharma, Prof. Bhim Singh addressed a public election rally in Poonch in defiance of ban orders of District Magistrate. S. Daljit Singh, Nasreen Hamid, a journalist from Delhi and others also addressed public rallies in Poonch, Chillas (a border village), Mendhar and other places. Prof. Bhim Singh praised the people of the border district for demonstrating full secular unity and upholding integrity and sovereignty of India. He welcomed Prime Minister's initiative to open pre-1947 routes between two sides of J&K for traffic and trade to make LoC irrelevant. Prof. Singh in his party's election manifesto has demanded ST status for Pahari ethnic community residing along LoC from Rajouri to Kupwara. He also demanded Delimitation of the Constituencies so that ST community (Gujjars, Bakerwals and Gaddies) shall be provided reservations in the Assembly. Prof. Bhim Singh demanded industrialization of Poonch-Rajouri Districts so that the unemployed youth may get reasonable jobs for their survival. Prof. Bhim Singh said that Barrack Obama or Bush or anybody else in the world cannot change the borders of India. He advised President-elect Obama of US to mind his business to save USA from disintegration and LoC. After the rally in Mendhar hundreds of Panthers Party workers took the candidate Tariq Hamid Khan and Prof. Bhim Singh with his team in a long procession through the streets of Mendhar defying the threats of the militants and prohibitory orders of the District Magistrate. Prof. Bhim Singh addressed hundreds of cheering crowd in the Bus Stand also daring administration to stop the Panthers.
