Manhas kick off election campaign

JAMMU, Nov 9: BS Manhas an advocate triggered off his election campaign as are independent candidate from Nagrota constituency from today.
He jumped with the electoral fray after being denied mandate by the National Conference, organised a Vishal Rally and opened up its first election office at toll post Nagrota after paying his obaueers at Mata Kol Kandoli temple the public meeting he said that extensive touring of the constituency made him aware about the problems being faced by the people of the area.
He said for years together some vested interested have been exploiting sentiments of the people and it is high time to teach a lesson to such forces as they are responsible for their backwardness. The area witnessed least development and condition of the area in terms of development and basic amenities has gone from bad to worse.
He said people have a bitter experienced of the elected representatives as they have failed to deliver on the promise which they have made with people of the constituency and therefore cautioned them against evil design of those who have been dividing masses in the name of caste and community for petty political gains. He appealed the people to give a befitting reply to such forces.
He said if he is given mandate by the people of constituency, he is committed to work for the development of far flung and remote area and will ensure that the far flung area get their rightful share in every sphere. He called upon the people attending the rally to strengthen him by casting their valuable votes in his favour and appealed to have faith in his ability.
A large number of delegates and workers of others parties joined hands with him to support him in the ensuing election. Prominent among them are Balwant Singh, Madan Lal, Mohd. Iqbal, Mushtaq, Fathe Mohd., Govind Singh and Nazir Ahmed from NC, Kuldeep Singh, Gaar Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Balbir Singh, Sanjeev Kumar, Gardari Lal, Sansar Chand from BJP, Karamat Ali, Habib Hussain, Rashid and Chander Mohan from PDP and Ch. Gulam Din from Janta Dal.
Those who spoke on the occasion includes Balkar Singh, Ch. Noor Mohd., Mohd. Asraf, Govind Singh, Pritam Chand, Surinder Kour, Anita Devi, Pardeep Sudan, Sanjeev Verma, Krishan Lal Gupta and Pritam Chand.
