| Mega Farmers Awareness Camp organized in Kishtwar | | |  Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, Nov 13: The Department of Horticulture today organized a Mega Farmers Awareness camp (District Level Event) at tourists reception centre. District Development Council Chairperson Pooja Thakur was the Chief Guest and the Director Horticulture Jammu Ram Savak, JKAS & District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Ashok Kumar were the guest of honours.
The Mega camp was inaugurated by the District Development Council Chairman Pooja Thakur in the presence of Director Horticulture Jammu and District Development Commissioner Kishtwar wherein a more than 300 farmers including women participated in the programme. They also inspected the fruit exhibits displayed by the department of Horticulture.
While addressing a large gathering of farmers, Director Horticulture Jammu briefed the farmers about the various centrally sponsored schemes of the department and urged them to come forward, associate with the horticulture department and avail the benefits on different components viz: Bore Well, water harvesting tanks, Drip irrigation, Custom Hiring Centres, vermicompost units, protected cultivation, Strawberry plantation, tools & implements etc. for upliftment of their socio- economic status. He also laid emphasis on planting of High Density Plants in their fields so as to get more income from the same area in order to double their income. |
