JKEEGA seeks filling up of vacancies from AE to CE, raises cadre issues
11/13/2021 10:50:24 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 13: The Jammu and Kashmir Electrical Engineering Graduates Association (JKEEGA) held a meeting of its Executive Council under the chairmanship of Sachin Tickoo, General Secretary here today. Ashok Kumar Dubey, Vice President, Er MP Singh Provincial Secretary, Rajeshwar Jamwal, Provincial Publicity Secretary, Vipul Sharma Treasurer, Purshottam Sharma Cashier also participated in the meeting which deliberated in detail the slow progress of the process of placements and filling up of the vacancies at various levels from Assistant Engineer (AE) to Chief Engineer (CE).
The participants while echoing the sentiments and aspirations of the members of the Graduate Engineering fraternity expressed strong resentment over the non- filling up of the clear cut vacancies available at various levels of the Power Development Department. A large number of engineers have retired and many more are retiring and are eligible for placement to higher levels with all formalities having been completed, but despite that the formal orders for their placements are not being issued. This approach of the administration has created deep sense of dissatisfaction and resentment among the cadres and hurts the morale of the employees in general.
The members while acknowledging the positive developments on the regularization front seek that the regularization of Engineers that had been mandated by SAC in its meeting on 22.10.2019 needs to be expedited in order to boost morale of Engineers.
The members also expressed strong displeasure over the delay in drawl of salaries of the employees of Power Development department due to the procedural delays in the release of "Grant-in-Aid" from Government and same is being regulated on advance drawl basis at Secretariat level. It is being felt inevitable to immediately restore mechanism of drawl of salary properly from respective Treasuries on BEAMS and regular budgetary provisions with respect to salary should be delinked from the Grant in Aid.
The members also highlighted at nearly fifty Assistant Engineers who were placed as Assistant Executive Engineers way back in Jan 2021, even after nearly a year now are still unadjusted despite sufficient vacant positions of AEEs, their adjustment orders shall definitely benefit the department on the revenue realization front and should be expedited.
JKEEGA strongly appealed Principal Secretary, Power Development Department to fulfill the aspirations and genuine demands of the employees and infuse a renewed zeal among the cadres.
