| Polling officials imparted training in handling of EVM | | | EARLY TIME REPORT JAMMU, Nov 9: About 537 presiding and polling officers of Kargil and Zanskar Assembly constituencies were imparted training in handling of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) here today. Likewise such training was also imparted on EVM at Padum-Zansakr wherein 204 employees of Zanskar Sub Division participated. The training will continue tomorrow also. The Election Observers for Kargil Assembly constituency P.C Dhiman and observer for Zanskar Assembly constituency S.N. Triparthi visited the stadium and auditorium and impressed upon the presiding/polling officers to strictly adhere to the guidelines prescribed by the election commission of India. The master trainers who have been assigned the job of imparting training to polling staffs included Ghulam Mohd Lone, Mohd Iqbal and Ghulam Raza, Zonal Education Officers, Tiasuru, Kargil and Drass and Veterinary Assistant Surgeons Iftikhar Hussain. It is to mention that 38446 female voters are expected to exercise their franchise out of total electorate of 77242 including 679 service voters in Kargil and Zanskar Assembly constituencies for which 237 polling stations has been established. Of these, 12 polling stations are set up exclusively for women voters only. |
