Director Horticulture visits Rajouri, Poonch

JAMMU, Nov 18: Director Horticulture Jammu, Ram Savak, conducted an extensive tour of twin districts, Rajouri and Poonch to have a complete review of physical and financial achievements of all the schemes viz Capex as well as Centrally Sponsored Schemes besides other developmental activities being carried out in both the districts. Director Horticulture chaired the meeting of the officers and officials of district Poonch. At the outset, the Chief Horticulture Officer Poonch, Satvir Singh briefed the chair about the achievements made under all the schemes being implemented in the district.
While taking a review of the ongoing schemes, Director Horticulture impressed upon all the officers and officials to expedite the works undertaken for the development of the departmental nurseries and achieve the targets allotted under different schemes by ending December 2021 so that full expenditure shall be incurred well in time. The Director instructed the officers to organize awareness camps, Kissan Ghoshtis to ensure better implementation of departmental schemes for the ultimate benefit of the fruit growers. Further, while taking a review of the progress in respect of implementation of CAPEX & UT Centrally Sponsored Schemes in district Rajouri, the Chief Horticulture Officer Rajouri Madan Lal Tak appraised the chair about the status of various works and details of physical and financial progress made under different departmental schemes.
Later, the Director visited Govt Fruit Plant Nursery, Siot and took stock of the ongoing developmental activities and gave on spot instructions to the nursery staff regarding the production of quantity and quality of grafted planting material in the nursery.
At last, all the officers of both the districts assured the chair to extend full co-operation and vowed to work hard for the betterment of farming community and achieve the targets in time.
