| Employees arrive to warm welcome in Jammu | | | Secretariat reopens today

Jammu, Nov 9: After six months rotation, the Civil Secretariat and its allied offices are set to reopen here in the winter capital tomorrow.
The employees associated with the Civil Secretariat had already started reaching Jammu since past one week while the Jammu based employees reached here a week to fortnight back.
Stage is all set for the move offices to reopen in the Winter Capital here tomorrow morning, with the last batch of the employees arriving in a caravan of government buses and private vehicles.
Governor, NN Vohra, this evening reviewed all the required arrangements, accommodation etc for the "move" employees and was informed that 200 additional dwelling units have been made available to the employees this year, over and above the accommodation earmarked last year. Over 2000 residential quarters have been allotted to the employees so far.
On the instructions of the Governor, the Commissioner General Administration Department, Basharat Ahmed Dhar and Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Sudhanshu Pandey, visited various colonies today and interacted with the move employees. The representatives of various Employees' Associations also accompanied the high level official team.
Dhar and Pandey took stock of the facilities like drinking water, power, sanitation etc. They were informed that the residential quarters have been made up for the occasion well in advance. A special team of the Estates Department had been camping in Jammu for the past fortnight to oversee the arrangements and renovation of the quarters. The Civil Secretariat and other move offices have also been given a face lift.
The Governor was informed that over 3500 employees of various categories of the Civil Secretariat and other move offices have arrived in the Winter Capital. Today, 34 buses and a large number of private vehicles reached here. Apart from the Government quarters, some private accommodation has also been hired for accommodating the employees.
Meanwhile, the incoming Kashmir based employees were given a rousing reception on their arrival by the Jammu Reception Committee at Manda, the entry point to the Capital city. The arrangements of refreshment etc had also been made for the "move" employees.
The Governor lauded the harmony and brotherhood between the employees and expressed the hope that the spirit of camaraderie will go a long way in keeping up the high traditions of the civil service and to enable it to resolve the problems of the people.
