| SW deptt distributes cheques among beneficiaries | | |
REASI, SEPTEMBER 13 - With a view to provide benefits under various centrally sponsored schemes to widows and physically handicapped persons of tehsil Reasi in Udhampur district, the Social Welfare Department Reasi is providing all type of assistance to the beneficiaries at their door steps.
Under National Old Age Pension Scheme (NOAPS), Rs. 19,03,600 was distributed by the Social Welfare Department among the pensioners through different J&K Bank branches while an amount of Rs. 4,19,600 was disbursed through money orders under Integrated Social Security Scheme.
To cover the physically handicapped beneficiaries of tehsil Reasi, an amount of Rs. 8,80,700 were distributed under Integrated Social Security Scheme while Rs. 1,16,800 under National Old Age Pension Scheme during the current financial year so far through money orders.
Under National Family Benefit Scheme, an amount of Rs. 55,000 were distributed through cheques to six beneficiaries. The cheques were distributed by the Sub Divisional Magistrate, Reasi and Sarpanches of the concerned areas.
Six sewing machines were also given to widows and physically handicapped persons on the eve of Independence Day by the department. |
