178 traders booked for violating W&M Enf. Act

JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 13- The department of Legal Metrology, Jammu province has inspected about 900 business establishments of which 178 were booked for violating various provisions of J&K W&M Enforcement Act and Rules during last month. An amount of Rs. 1.60 lakh has been recovered as composition from 221 traders. Also over of Rs. 1.35 lakh was realized as stamping fee during the month.
An amount of Rs. 5,76,850 was recovered as composition sum from 738 traders upto August 2006. Also 707 traders were booked during this time. An amount of Rs. 7,25,152 was collected as stamping fee during this financial year.
