People have to defeat BJP to save India: Sawhney

JAMMU, Nov 21: Continuing with its Jan Jagran programme, the Congress party conducted meetings in Jammu East and Jammu West. The meetings were chaired by former Minister J&K Yogesh Sawhney, General Secretary PCC & Incharge District President Jammu (U). Sahil Dogra organized the meeting at Peerkho Ward No 3 Jammu East. At the meeting, Sahil Dogra was appointed as Ward President for the Ward No 3. Another meeting was organized by Marks Gill at Ambphalla, Ward No 8, Jammu West. Senior District Congress leaders were present at the meetings. Under the Jan Jagran programme, they highlighted the sufferings of people under the BJP government while several youth members joined the Congress party.
Senior leaders, Kanta Bhan, Vijay Sharma, Pradeep Bhagat, Yash Sarwal, Shamlal Bittu, Yash Salotra, Ch Mohan Lal, Rajesh Kapoor, Shri Krishan, Rakesh Bhatti, Darvin Sotra, Yog Raj and others were present at the meetings.
Speaking at the meetings, former Minister Yogesh Sawhney stressed that the people of our country are suffering due to the anti-people policies of the BJP government. Through the Jan Jagran initiative the party will touch every corner of the city to highlight the contemporary problems the country is facing because of BJP's policies, he added. Their governance model is based on exploitative tax structures and corporate-supporting policies while the poor struggle with prices of fuel and essential items such as cooking oil, he said.
Sawhney also said that Jan Jagran programme is going in full swing in Jammu and youth members are being welcomed into the Congress fold. The repeal of the farm laws was also an eye-opener for many people that the BJP government is not invincible and can be defeated when they pose danger to the livelihoods of people. The Congress party's mass awareness programme is the dawn of a new era where people are equipped with right information to fight against the injustices of the government. Congress aims at ensuring unity, social harmony and equality and urged people to join hands with it to end the current era where the government is not concerned with common people's problems. The only fear the BJP has is that of losing elections. People are coming to know that they have to defeat BJP to save India, he said.
