| Jain performs puja at 4th bore-well drilling site | | | JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 13 - To ensure adequate water supply to the consumers, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Mr. Parmod Jain participated in the puja ceremony organized for starting drilling work of fourth bore well at Shakti Nagar near A.G. Office here this morning. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Jain said the process of revitalizing the PHE department, which suffered a major set back after the entire Sitlee Filtration Plant Phase-1 collapsed in the recent torrential downpour, has already started. As a part of this, three bore wells having capacity of supplying 12500 to 15000 gallons of water per hour have already started functioning, thereby supplementing 5 lakh gallons per day to meet present water scarcity. All the three bore wells would provide water supply from Shakti Nagar A.G. Office water reservoir to Bakshi Nagar storage tank for further supply to consumers. The fourth bore well would also start functioning in a couple of days, he apprised. Chief Engineer PHE Mr. D. S. Pawar and other senior officers of the department present on the occasion assured that the department would be able to overcome water scarcity in about 10 to 15 days time. |
