| J&K Gymnasts win 20 medals in Nationals | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 09: Brining laurels to the state, the gymnastics team of Jammu and Kashmir shined with 20 medals in their kitty in the recently held 19th National Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships held at Jodhpur in Rajasthan.
Among the best achievers was Palak Kour, who was declared Best Gymnast of the championship in sub-junior category.
The J&K team won seven gold, 10 silver and three bronze medals, courtesy outstanding performance from Mitali, Palak, Natasha and Mridul.
While `Wonder Girl’ Mitali won two gold in the senior group competing in Individual Apparatus events of Hoop and Rope, Palak clinched three gold in All-Round, Rope and Hoop. Pallak also won silver medal in Ball and Team event.
Natasha Sharma clinched gold in Ribbon and silver in Team event of sub- juniors category while Mridul Gupta secured a gold in Ball event and three silvers in All-Round, Free Hand and Team. Mridul also bagged a bronze medal in Rope. Rishma Khokher won three silvers in Team, Ball and Rope events of under 10-year category.
Among other medal winners were Pawandeep Kour, who bagged two2 silver in Team and All-Round and a bronze in Ball event and Mehak Chetri, who secured two silvers in Team and Ball events. Dhavani Sharma won a silver and bronze medal in Team and Rope events respectively of under 8-year group.
The sub-juniors team, comprised of Palak, Natasha, Antriksha and Jasmeet, won silver medal. In under-10 year Team event, Mridul, Rishma Khokher, Anmol Kour and Shipvan won silver medal.
In the under-8 year category Team event, team comprised of Mehak Chetry, Pawandeep Kour, Dhavani Sharma and Anchal Khokher won silver medal. |
