BARAMULLA, Nov 22: Since the new cases of Covid-19 were reported in JK, seven areas including two new locations have been declared today as micro containment zones in this north Kashmir district.
District Magistrate Baramulla today declared two new areas as Micro Containment zones vide order no: DMB/NO/COVID-19/2021/687 Dated: 22/11/2021.
The order said that, in pursuance to the powers vested in me under the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897, the disaster Management Act, 2005 and under section 144 Cr.Pc, I Bhupinder Kumar, IAS, District Magistrate, Baramulla hereby order that the two locations shall be Micro Containment Zones for containment of COVID-19 disease.
These containment zones include Nambardar Mohalla Bramun of Tehsil and Medical Block Rohama and Alsafa Colony of Tehsil and Medical Block Sopore.
Following an order, there will be complete restrictions in these containment zones. These restrictions will include complete lockdown and tight perimeter control has been ordered in the said area except for essential needs.
Besides, movement of the people in and out in the containment zones has been completely barred, except essential services and medical emergencies.
The authorities have also made testing and vaccination mandatory for the residents of the containment zones.
Meanwhile, SSP Baramulla and Sopore have been ordered for deployment of necessary manpower for enforcement of restrictions in the said locations. Furthermore, it is mentioned that any person violating order shall be strictly punished.
Meanwhile in the recent past, five locations were declared as micro containment zones including of Dara Gutliyan Uri, Sangri Watlab Sopore and Jalal Abad (A) Sopore, Near Jamia Masjid, vide DM Baramulla order no: DMB/NO/COVID-19/2021/686, dated /20/11/202120
On Nov 18, Kashmir University, North Campus, Delina was declared as Micro Containment Zone, vide order no: DMB/NO/COVID-19/2021/685 dated 18/11/2021.
Likewise Ahmad Complex Baramulla vide no: DMB/NO/COVID-19/2021/684 was declared as Micro Containment Zone.
However a senior police official said that, "Time and again the civil and police authorities have been asking the people to follow SOPs in letter and spirit with regard to Covid-19 in the valley, as new active positive cases are reported on daily basis in all the districts of UT except few.
