JSM to continue struggling for people’s rights
11/10/2008 10:34:21 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 10: Assuring to struggle for the rights of people and development of Jammu region and for the creation of a separate Jammu state, Jammu State Morcha (P) has appealed the voters to fully support the party’s nominee for achieving the cherished goal Addressing media persons here, the Morcha President Verinder Gupta while criticizing the NC, PDP for their dubious role asked the people of Jammu region to reject all other parties and leaders who have betrayed their faith in the case of Amarnath Land issue. The Kashmir based parties like National Conference, PDP and their leaders have always enforced their hegemony on Jammu province and treated Jammu province as their colony. They have denied granting of equitable position to Jammu province, be it a matter of representation in the state assembly, civil secretariat and other state services; in allocation of funds and development; or providing employment and admission to the professional institutions. The proposals of greater autonomy, self rule and Azadi being forwarded by the Kashmiri leaders are against the interests and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Ladakh regions, he added.
JSM president also demanded immediate supply of DAP to the farmers of all the villages of Jammu region who are facing an acute shortage of the same during the current sowing period. Only 1200 Tons is available to them against actual requirement of 2700 Tons, that too after making an advance payment for the required quantity. In contrast, the Kashmir region has no current requirement but 70 trucks out of Jammu quota have been sent there causing an excess supply. The farmers of this region are suffering because of non availability of fertizers.
He said National Conference though projects itself, as a balanced party is more dangerous. It has always played a mischievous role with double standards to harm and insult the sentiments of Jammu. Resettlement bill, Greater autonomy and bill debarring the delimitation till 2026 when fresh census is held, manipulating census report, dividing Jammu region on communal lines are some of the glaring examples of anti Jammu steps taken by the National Conference, the JSM President observed.
Abdul Rauf Ganai, H.B.Khajuria, Digvijay Singh, Devinder Singh Jamwal, Chandra Uday Sharma and Mahesh Sharma were also present on the occasion.
On this occasion large number of people from Billawar led by Uttam Chand Pdha joined the JSM who would also be the party candidate from Billawar.
