| NC committed for upliftment of women folk: Luthra | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT NOWSHERA, Nov 10: Provincial President Jammu Kashmir National Conference, Women Wing Bimla Luthra has said that her party is committed to work for the upliftment of the women folk who remained neglected during the previous six years of Congress-PDP coalition rule. She was addressing public meetings in Nowshera, Rajouri and Poonch in favour of NC candidates R.S Sharma, Mohammed Aslam Khan and Aijaz Jan from these constituencies. NC Women Wing Provincial President who launched her mass campaign in favour of party candidates said that empowering women folk is among top most priorities of the National Conference and the party after coming to power shall take all necessary measures to provide reservation to women folk in the Legislative Assembly and shall strengthen the Women's Commission and other similar bodies for empowering the women folk of the state. She urged the people of the constituency to come forward and strengthen the hands of party candidates and assured the people on behalf of the party candidates that they will work hard for the upliftment of the constituency. She said the six years of mis-governance of PDP- Congress coalition government has paralyzed the administrative setup of the state and crippled the delivery mechanism at the grass root level. She said the two parties made tall claims and promises to the people of the state but could not deliver on those promises. ‘I urge the people to give a befitting reply to the Congress, PDP who exploited people and befooled them during their six years of rule’, she said. |
