| Pandey for controlling AIDS through awareness | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 10: As part of off-board activities of Red Ribbon Express Awareness Project, a State Level program on AIDS awareness was organized today at Gen. Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Sudanshu Pandey, Divisional Commissioner Jammu stressed on the need for AIDS awareness and its prevention. He emphasized on good physical and mental health of youth, so that they can contribute to the socio economic development of Nation in a positive manner. He advised that returning to the old Indian value system can help check the challenge of AIDS and other up-surging problems.
While releasing a brochure on the occasion, Pandey called for shunning inhibitions and expressing openly about issues related to AIDS.
Earlier, speaking on the occasion, Director Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), S. S. Kashyap apprised about various on board and off board activities of the Red Ribbon Express. HOD Blood Bank, GMC Dr. Kumkum Sharma called upon one and all to come forward for voluntarily blood donation for treatment of needy people.
Dr. M. A. Wani, Project Director, State AIDS Control Society and Regional Secretary, Red Cross Society also apprised the audience about cure and prevention of AIDS. |
