| Natrang to stage Mega play Bawa Jitto in Jhiri Festival | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 10: Natrang's mega theatrical show 'Bawa Jitto' directed by Balwant Thakur is being featured at Jhiri Mela on 12th and 13th of this month. Since 2006, Natrang has been organizing the shows of its highly acclaimed play Bawa Jitto at Jhiri Mela which is witnessed by lakhs of devotees who come for the Jhiri Mela. Briefing about this mega cultural event, Natrang Director Balwant Thakur informed the media here today that Jhiri Mela is one of the biggest ever festival of Jammu and Kashmir which is organized to remember the supreme sacrifices of the Dogra folk hero Bawa Jitto. Natrang will present two shows of the play at the open stage of Jhiri on November 12 and 13 every evening at 6 pm. In addition to these two shows, Natrang will present two more Dogri plays viz., 'Suno Eh Kahani' and 'Is Gran Gi Surg Banai Lo' meant for the social and moral education of the masses. The play 'Suno Eh Kahani' is based on the education of the girl child and the second play Is Gran Gi Surag Bani Lo is based on the theme of sanitation education. Balwant Thakur thanked the Jhiri Mela Committee and its Chairman Dr. M.K. Bhandari, District Development Commissioner, Jammu for giving Natrang this opportunity to put-up such meaningful shows which will be witnessed by thousands of the audience. |
