| Students took out impressive rallies | | National education day | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 10: In connection with the celebration of National Education Day and to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad the first education minister of the country and march the occasion. Rallies were taken out from various schools today. Divisional Commissioner Sudanshu Pandey flagged off the rally of students from Govt. Girls HSS, Mubarak Mandi. The rallies passed through various parts of the city. Three groups of students of SRML, HSS displayed banners and placards from MLA Hostel to Prade, City Chowk to Shahidi Chowk and from Brig Rajinder Singh Chowk to SRML as the rallies were not taken out on these routes to avoid inconvenience to traffic. Similar rallies were taken out in other parts of division. In these rallies students held banners with slogans eulogizing the contributions of Maulana Azad. The main provincial level function shall be held tomorrow in the auditorium of College for Women, Gandhi Nagar. The advisor to his governor Dr. S.S. Bloeria will be the chief guest. On this occasion at symposium on the topic “Maulana Abul Kalam Azad’s crusade for education” will be organized in which twelve speakers, six each from higher and school education department will participate. Certificate of merit and trophies shall be awarded to the participants who excel in the symposium. The students and staff of Government Hari Singh Higher secondary school also organized rally which passed through various parts of the city. The rally was flagged off by the principal Ashok Kumar Kaul. He on the occasion re-called the services of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad towards the spreading of education in the country and also highlighted the importance of education day. |
