EARLY TIMES REPORT DODA, Nov 10: The inter-block trophy in Women Sports Festival, organized by J&K State Sports Council, went to District Kishtwar. In all, four districts took part in three events of kho-kho, kabaddi and athletics. Block Kishtwar bagged kabaddi title beating block Doda in the final. The kho-kho trophy went to block Doda, who beat Kishtwar in the final. Athletics: 100 mts: Sarita Bano, Doda, Ist; Meenakshi, Kishtwar, 2nd and Pooja, Ramban, third. 200 mts: Sarita, Doda, Ist; Anu, Kishtwar, 2nd and Sapna, Kishtwar, third. Shot Put: Pooja, Budgam, Ist; Anu, Kishtwar, 2nd and Nilam, Batote, third. Zonal Physical Education Officer Doda, Mushtaq Bhat was chief in the prize distribution function. The competitions, which held under the guidance of Sports Council officials, Ashok Singh, Iqbal Singh and Dalbir Mehta, were officiated by Salim-ul-Rehman, Shahid Bashir, Surinder Singh, Rakesh and Bharat Bhushan. Meanwhile, in the Block Batote Women Sports Festival, High School Batote defeated Higher Secondary School Batote to bag the title. The kho-kho trophy was again won by High School Batote beating HSS Batote. Principal Higher Secondary School Batote, Rameshwar Gandral was chief guest in the finals and prize distribution function. |
