Warrants against ex-SSRB chief

JAMMU, Nov 10: Justice Mansoor Ahmed Mir of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Jammu Wing today in a petition regarding selection of Accounts Assistants issued bailable warrants to the tune of Rs 10,000 each against then Chairman J&K SSRB Mr. GD Wadhwa and then Secretary JC Bhagat. Court further ordered that the warrants be executed by IGP Jammu, in case warrants are not executed, the IGP Jammu shall remain present before the Court on the next date of hearing.
These bailable warrants were issued in a petition filed by Ravi Kant Sharma and 17 others challenging the selection of Assistant Accounts Officer. Today Justice Mansoor Ahmed Mir after hearing Adv SS Lehar assisted by Adv Nitin Bhasin appeared for the petitioners observed that in terms of order September 19, 2008 bailable warrants was issued against said respondents, registry has reported that warrants have not been received back. SSP Jammu directed to appear in person on the next date of hearing to explain as to why he has failed to execute the warrants and issued fresh warrants against then Chairman and Secretary J&K SSRB.
