| Semifinals position clear in women’s singles | | IV All India Defence Accounts Carrom tourney | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 11: Semifinals line-up has been drawn in the women’s singles event in the ongoing three-day IV All India Defence Accounts Department (DAD) Carrom Tournament organized by Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (PCDA), Northern Command at Satwari, Jammu Cantonment, here today.
Those who have made it into the last four stages are Julie Swant of CDA (O) Pune, Neera, Snehal Rande of PCDA (HQs) Delhi and Ana Raju of DCA Chennai.
Earlier, in the quarterfinals, Julie defeated Madhu Sexena of CDA (AF) New Delhi, Snehal Rande beat Kehika Roy of CFA Danpur, Ana Raju trounced Vijay Laxmi of CDA Mumbai and Neera outplayed Aphale of CDA (O) Pune.
The finals and valedictory function of the national event shall be held tomorrow at the same venue.
In all, 93 men and women players from almost every state of the country, representing 34 teams are taking part in this three-day meet in two events of singles and doubles.
