| Implementation of MCC discussed in Kathua | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Nov 11: On the instructions of District Election Officer, Kathua, Additional District Development Commissioner,, R.K. Gupta today convened a meeting to discuss the implementation of model code of conduct He directed the Executive officer municipal committee to monitor the displaying of hoardings, banners, posters in the limits of Municipal council, Kathua and directed him that these should be in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India.
Later, the ADDC along with other officers visited Government Degree College, Kathua and inspected the proposed strong rooms and counting halls and directed the concerned departments to put in place all the arrangements pertaining to their departments. The Executive Engineer, PWD(R&B) was directed to renovate the halls. Likewise XEN, PDD, PHE and Flood control were directed to take proper steps for providing of drinking water, supply of power and barricading of counting hall.
Treasury Officer, Kathua was directed to make arrangements for proper collection and maintenance of EVMs in the strong rooms of the counting halls.
The Information Department was directed for installation of PAS at all the halls as well as control room and establish media room for publicity of results.
Gupta also discussed installation of telephone facilities with BSNL authorities at the Media Centre, Election Cell and counting halls.. |
