| NCP releases list of 11 contestants | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 12: While releasing the list of its 11 candidates, eight for Jammu seats and three for Valley seats, for the forthcoming assembly elections in the state, the Nationalist Addressing media persons here today Nationalist Congress President Thakur Randhir Singh said that his party would have no electoral alliance with any other party and will fight on its own strength. He disclosed that neither he nor any other senior office bearer of the party would be contesting elections rather campaign for the party candidates throughout the state along with the central leaders. Randhir Singh said that flood of illegal money that gushes into politics today in Jammu and Kashmir is a pollution of democracy and pledged to expose corrupt politicians, bureaucrats and their relations who are responsible to bring Jammu and Kashmir as the second most corrupt state. He said that the people are in favour of the new and energetic team as they are fed up with the NC, PDP and the Congress as some of their leaders are involved in various scandals and misuse of funds allotted to the state. Their wrong policies have caused heavily to the development of the state, he added. He said that majority of the candidates given party ticket are below 45 years, the eldest candidate Gulab Chand Bhagat 62 years will be contesting from Raipur-Domana and the youngest Parvez Malik 26 years from Inderwal. Those given party tickets include Gulab Chand Bhagat from Raipur- Domana, Prof. Romal Singh, Udhampur, Dr. Manohar Lal Rao, Bishnah, Parvez Ahmed Tak, Inderwal, Mohinder Singh Thakur, Ramnagar, Sudershan Kumar, Vijaypur, Rajinder Kaul, Habbakadal, Satish Gupta, Suchetgarh, Ghulam Mohammed Paul, Chadoora, Shiv Dev Singh, Bani and Shafiq Ahmed Jogal (Naz) from Gulmarg. |
