CBI summons top police official, (EX) minister’s PRO, contractor

Srinagar, July 10 : Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has summoned a top police official, PRO of a former minister jailed in connection with his alleged involvement in Jammu Kashmir sex abuse case and a contractor .Meanwhile both the ministers arrested for the reasons of their alleged involvement in the case were produced before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar, and they were sent to 14 day judicial remand. Meanwhile police has registered a case against those accused persons who created a pandemonium in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate few days back and action is being contemplated against them on charges of contempt of court.
Informed sources while disclosing revealed that CBI has summoned a top police official of the state police in connection with the ongoing investigation of the high profile sex abuse case. It has been learnt that the said top police official will be questioned about the investigation of the case conducted by local police in the year 2004. PRO of a former detained minister was summoned for the second time for questioning and released later. A contractor namely Nazir Ahmed who is believed to be a relation of an officer arrested by CBI in connection with sex abuse case has also been taken into custody by CBI for questioning and he too was released later.
Meanwhile two former ministers Gh.Ahmed Mir and Raman Matoo facing trial in the sex abuse case were produced before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Srnagar . The remand of both the ministers was expiring on July 10 and following the request of CBI’s inquiry officer S.L.Gupta, both the ministers were sent to judicial remand till July 24 for 14 days more. The bail application of two former minsters, Gh.Ahmed.Mir and Raman Matoo, senior IAS officer Iqbal Khanday, DIG BSF K.S.Padhey, Dy.S.P Mohd Ashraf Mir, Shabir kala, Mehraj-ud-Din Malik and king pin Sabina are schedule to come up for hearing in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar today. Meanwhile police has registered a case bearing FIR.No:56/2006 under section 379 who caused a pandemonium in the court few days back.
The police, according to sources, has recorded the statements of witnesses during which an advocate accused of provoking the accused persons has been identified. CJM is understood to have conveyed the police that law must take its own course in case of the said persons after proper investigation. Meanwhile Chef Judicial magistrate has already initiated action against Dy.S.P Mohd Ashraf Mir, his son Aftab Ahmed Mir, Advocate Anil Sethi and Mehraj-ud-Dn Malik, brother of Bashir Ahmed Malik under section 228 for causing pandemonium in the court.
