| Malegaon strings reach Jammu | | CA, son held in Trikuta Nagar for links with Pande | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 12: As the strings of Malegaon blasts and terror module spread far and wide, the Jammu Police on request of Maharashtra Anti Terrorist Squad arrested a Chartered Accountant and his son from Trikuta Nagar area of Winter Capital.
The arrest of the father-son duo comes close to the heels of the arrest of the self styled spiritual guru Dayanand Pande from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. The Jammu based Chartered Accountant is believed to be incharge of the accounts of Pande who has been linked with Malegaon blasts.
Sources said that following request from the ATS of Maharashtra Police and Kanpur Police, the Jammu police raided a residential house in Trikuta Nagar locality and arrested the father-son duo. Identified as VK Kapoor and his son Pawan Kapoor the father son duo were said to be closely associated with Dayanand Pande alias Ambikananada Saraswati, one of the prime accused in Malegaon blasts.
Police, sources said, was ascertaining the activities of Saraswati in Jammu and Kashmir and his association with other people in the state. It was further learnt that the father-son duo was running Vaidik Vishava Kalyan Trust in Jammu which was associated with Sharda Sarvagya Peeth Math owned and being run by Dayanad Pande.
A little known self-styled spiritual guru, Dayanand Pande alias Swami Amritananda Devatirth, has been arrested by the UP police in connection with the Malegaon bomb blasts. Dayanand Pande was picked up from the Rawatpur locality in Kanpur. Pande will be interrogated by the Mumbai ATS in Lucknow. Dayanand Pande is reportedly associated with the blast accused Pragya Singh and others.
Dayanand Pande originally belongs to Varanasi, but currently staying in Kanpur. According to Brij Lal, Additional DG, UP Police, Dayanand Pande will be handed over to Mumbai ATS only after interrogation in Lucknow. Dayanand Pande is said to be associated to Sharda Sarvagya Peeth Math in Jammu & Kashmir. Meanwhile, Dayanand Pande's Chartered Accountant BC Kapoor and his son Pawan have been detained by Jammu Police for questioning. |
