Composite Mushaira on Education Day

KATHUA, NOV 13: In connection with celebration of National Education Day, 2008 Department of Information, District Information Centre, Kathua organized a multilingual mushaira and a composite cultural programme at Ashoka College of Education, Kathua
Station Director, All India Radio, Kathua, Ms. Manju Alok was the chief guest while Chairman Ashoka College of Education, Mr. Kamal Gupta and Principal of the College, Mr. Madan Mohan Sharma, intellectuals districts and galaxy of media persons were also present on the occasion.
As many as 16 poets recited their creations in Hindi, Dogri, Punjabi and Urdu which included Dr. Adrash Malhotra, Sanjay Sehgal, Rakesh Kumar Lovely, Santosh Dhiman, Dalip Singh Sawan, Sanjay Sharma, Arun kumar, Khajoor Singh, TR. Sumberia, Ms. Radha Sharma, Bishan Bhau, Usha Monga, Sunil Dutt Shad, Anu Jasrotia, Kulbhushan Sharma and Janak Raj Sharma. The poets enthralled the audience by their creations touching all the aspects of the society.
The department also organized a composite Cultural programme on the occasion in which girls artists from Nav Adrash Senior Secondary School, Jatinder Khajuria and party, Thomos and party, Kapil Thappa and accompanists, Shakti Bachan and Bunty presented a cultural bonanza which was highly appreciated by the audience.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief guest, Ms. Manju Alok appreciated the programme and said that such programme provide a plateform to the budding artists to exhibit their talent. She also lauded the Information Department for organizing the Mushaira and cultural programme to expose the students hidden talent.
Chairman Ashoka College of Education, Mr. Kamal Gupta while speaking on the occasion said that poets can play a vital role in eradicating the social evils from the society as they had also played a big role in freedom struggle of India. He also threw light on the importance of National Education Day on the occasion.
District Information Officer, Kathua, Mr. Suram Sharma in his message urged the student community to come forward to widen the horizon of education by participating in co-curricular activities. He also extended gratitude to the chief guest and the college management for sparing her valuable time to grace the occasion.
