| Parties asked to avoid sticking posters on walls | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT UDHAMPUR, NOV 13: For the guidance of all political parties and other candidates, the District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner), Udhampur, Mr. Ajay Khajuria has asked them to collect a copy of Model Code of Conduct issued by the Election Commission of India which is available with the Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers of Udhampur, Chenani and Ramnagar Assembly segments. The Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Udhampur, SDM Basantgarh and Tehsildars of Udhampur, Chenani, Ramnagar and Majalta have been authorized to grant permission to political parties to hold elections meetings, arrange processions and use of loud speakers. Hence contestants for the coming Assembly elections may approach them for the purpose. With regard to the issuance of advertisement in TV channels/Cable Net works by political parties, a committee constituted by the Chief Electoral Officer, J&K, Jammu will clear them before being telecast. Political parties may approach the office of District Election Officer and the Returning Officers of three Assembly segments of the district for the purpose. The District Election Officer has also asked all the political parties to immediately remove the unauthorized posters which have defaced the public property or otherwise the DEO or ROs would get them removed and cost involved for the purpose would be debited to the election account of concerned candidate. The District Election Officer has also advised the political parties to desist from using plastic buntings/banners as the Election Commission of India has imposed complete ban on their use. The candidates are also advised to maintain proper record of election related expenditure and also use the name of printer/publisher in their posters as required under rules. |
