| Governor concerned over road accidents | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, NOV 13: Governor, Mr N N Vohra, today expressed grave concern over repeated road accidents in the State and stressed the need for effective preventive measures for checking such mishaps. During his review of the various Road Projects in the State, at a high level meeting here this morning, the Governor referred to yesterday’s road accident on the Doda-Kishtwar Road and expressed shock over the killing of ten passengers. “Repeated road accidents have been resulting in tragic loss of life”, Mr Vohra observed and asked the Divisional Commissioner and IGP Jammu to immediately enforce a system for checking over-loading, condition of vehicles etc. He specifically called for extensive checking of the licenses of those operating the passenger and other vehicles on the State roads. |
