| Timber worth Rs 5 lakh seized | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT GANDERBAL, Nov 13: Forest officials of Sindh division claimed to have seized timber worth about Rs 5 lakhs which was allegedly being smuggled to the Leh in a Truck. Official sources said that on specific information a team of forest officials laid a special Naka at Kulan Rail on Srinagar-Leh Highway and intercepted a Truck (JK1B/1154) during the morning hours today. During the checking about 150 green logs estimating nearly rupees five lakhs in the market were recovered from the Truck and seized. The truck was seized and one person was arrested. "We have seized timber worth Rs. five lakh and booked the smugglers under section 6 of Forest Act", an official of forest department said. Earlier also the forest officials had seized another truck and recovered timber worth about Rs four lakhs. |
